Wetlands by Canoe
Using the Center’s canoes, students explore Eagle Springs Lake and Lake Lulu. These two lakes are pieces of one of southeast Wisconsin’s most pristine watersheds. Students examine the differences in biotic diversity between the two lakes, as well as understand wetland concepts that reflect why these contiguous lakes are of different quality. Time depending, students exit canoes to hike to a floating bog to inspect another unique aquatic habitat. Mukwonago River is an alternate route in spring.
Prior to this program, we recommend students complete our Canoeing 101 program.
