$75.00 – $95.00Wednesdays, January 15, 22 & 29
Join Director of Learning Tom Finley for a three-part winter ecology workshop exploring the beauty of winter at Schlitz Audubon. Each day will have a different focus and habitat that we visit. They will all showcase aspects of winter ecology plus explore some of the many characteristics of animal and plant survival during this time of scarcity in the natural world. A winter landscape can be both a beautiful and harsh environment, worthy of our respect and understanding.
- January 15 – Mammal ecology & forests
- January 22 – Pond ecology & Mystery Lake
- January 29 – Winter birding & Lake Michigan
This program will take place both indoors and outdoors. Please come prepared by dressing in layers. Ice cleats, walking poles and Yak Trax are helpful, as are binoculars and your favorite guidebook. As an added bonus, we’ll enjoy hot chocolate by the Great Hall fireplace after each hike.
