Learn how you can study the stars and planets and participate in citizen science, day or night. Our presenter is Matthew Ryno, a published citizen scientist from the Milwaukee Astronomical Society (MAS), who has logged over 300 citizen science missions. Mr. Ryno will discuss how to get involved with discovering the night sky from any location, even in the city, regardless of experience or skill level.
This program takes place both indoors and out. The general public, students and amateur astronomers are welcome. A variety of citizen science opportunities allow study of the night sky, promotion of dark skies, and simply having fun while viewing the heavens. It will be an enjoyable evening of learning and sharing how you can get started, at your own comfort level, to study the cosmos whenever you’ve got the time for science! This program takes place even if it’s cloudy – we’ll discuss how to navigate the night sky and the current essential sky objects.
Matt Ryno will with stargaze with a Unistellar eVscope 2 modern smart telescope, a device used at the MAS, which is capable of displaying deep sky nebulas and galaxies live in color in just a few minutes. Be sure to visit our Mezzanine Art Gallery for the breathtaking MAS exhibit through March 31.
