Spring Wildlife Hike

Friday, May 17, 2024 | 9:00 am - 10:30 am

$17 – $23

, ,

Spring at the Center is rich with nature’s tapestry and the stories of each animal are as unique as stars in the sky. On this guided hike we’ll look for the sites which are home to the animals and identify some of the most ubiquitous birds around us. We’ll uncover the inimitable signs of spring: blooming ephemeral flowers, calling birds searching for a nesting spot and frogs signing for a mate.

We will begin with a visit to our bird feeding area along the Visitor Center veranda to see who is filling up on much needed energy. Spring phenomena change quickly, so we may visit our forested and accessible trails, inland ponds, or the Lake Michigan shore. We’ll go wherever we have the best chance of observing spring wildlife this morning.

Your guide for the hike will be Director of Education Tom Finley, who has spent over twenty years investigating the nooks and crannies of the Center.

Members: $17 | Non-members: $23
