Nature journaling uses drawings, words, and numbers to collect and record your nature observations, questions, and explanations in a notebook. It is a way to slow down, awaken your curiosity and marvel at the beauty found in nature. This program will review the basics of nature journaling, from what tools you need, how to use words, pictures and numbers to record information and what questions will help with your journal entries. Once we go over these basics, we will have a few prompts to inspire our entries in our journals and have some time to explore the use of different sketching materials. No experience is needed for nature journaling. Come and start your journaling experience with us!
We will be staying inside for the duration of this program. Please bring a sketchbook or unlined notebook and some materials for drawing and writing.
This program will be run by Shelly Rollins, Education Specialist here at the Center. Shelly has a BFA in Fine Arts and is always looking for ways to combine art and nature.
