Behaviors of Birds
Sunday, July 14, 2024 | 9:00 am - 11:00 am
$23.00 – $30.00Adults, Birding, Citizen Science, Guided Hikes
Join on a birding hike that goes past the “What?” and into the “Why?” Go beyond simple bird identification and discover the unique avian behaviors and adaptations of birds found at Schlitz Audubon. Through a introductory presentation and guided hike, participants will learn how birds survive and thrive in our habitats through competition, reproduction, and parental care. Along the trails, we will search for and interpret these behaviors, as well as classify them through eBird Breeding and Behavior Codes, which provide a way for birders to supply crucial information for research and conservation through Citizen Science. This program is led by Aubrey Fulsaas, an experienced birder whose collegiate academics focused on the field of Animal Behavior. This program will include both indoor and outdoor components.
