This is a two-day workshop: Saturdays, January 11 & 18
Learn the basics of painting with acrylics with this two-day workshop created for beginning and intermediate-level painters. Enjoy an afternoon with other bird, wildlife, and nature enthusiasts and get an introduction to exciting acrylic painting techniques while exploring elements of nature and wildlife found at the Schlitz Audubon. Students progress at their own pace with instructor guidance. Participants can purchase materials from a provided list, or bring their own supplies to class. Canvas will be provided.
Instructor José Acevedo uses art to explore the natural world and finds inspiration in the birds, fish, wildlife, and native plants of the Midwest. Acevedo, who has taught watercolor techniques at the Audubon Center, is also a self-taught wood carver. His hand-painted wood carvings of native Wisconsin birds, fish, and wildlife are featured at select galleries and shops, including Schlitz Audubon and Boerner Botanical Gardens.
The fee is for both sessions. A supply list will be sent to all participants after registration.
